Payment Options

The Academic Year fee can be paid in any of the following ways:

  • Full year payment (per ‘total’ column in above table)
  • Two part-payments (as shown in above table)
  • Instalment payments comprising eight equal part-payments*
    *Amounts and due dates are available on the Student Accommodation Portal to students that have received an offer.

Please note:

  • Payments must be made online via the Student Accommodation Portal
  • Payments can only be made by debit card or credit card
  • Unfortunately, it is not possible to facilitate bank transfers

Booking Deposit

All students receiving room offers by e-mail in March 2022 must pay a €250 deposit to confirm acceptance of room offer.

  • Having accepted an accommodation offer, if your application to NUI Galway is successful this booking deposit is held for the duration of your stay and is refundable less any deductions for damage or missing items at the end of your stay.
  • Having accepted an accommodation offer, if your application to NUI Galway is unsuccessful (or you choose not to attend NUI Galway), this booking deposit will be returned less an administration fee of €100, provided that our cancellation policy has been abided by (details can be found in the cancellation policy section below).

Utilities Prepayment

A utilities prepayment must be paid prior to check-in. It is €450 for Corrib Village and €375 for Goldcrest Village.

This is a payment against utility consumption. Every month, a bill is issued, based on metered consumption, and applied on a pro-rata basis against occupants’ prepayments. If the final amount incurred is greater than this amount, the student is liable for the difference. Any surplus will be refunded.

Cancellation Policy

Before Move-In:

If an applicant wishes to cancel their application at any point after the deposit has been paid, but before going into residence, they must do so online via the student portal by the dates outlined therein.

Cancellations by telephone will NOT be accepted.

Where the above policy has been adhered to a €100 administration fee will be deducted from the booking deposit and the remainder €150 will be refunded. Where cancellations are received after the cut-off point outlined, the booking will be cancelled but no refund will be issued.

After Move-In:

In line with current RTB legislation, if you wish to cancel your on-campus accommodation within the licence period, you are required to give 28 days’ notice in writing by submitting a cancellation form. You will be liable to pay the licence fee and any and all associated charges up to the end of the 28-day notice period or such longer period of notice stated in the cancellation form.
