Corrib Village student accommodation offers great facilities at affordable prices. Below shows a breakdown of student rates by room type.

A €250 booking deposit must be paid at the time of application.
*Additional payments due with first part-payment: €675 (€450 Electricity/Water Deposit, €225 Utilities Charge)

Payment Dates

The Academic Year fee is paid in two part-payments (as shown in above table). The first moiety is due before 12:00pm (midday) on Tuesday, 23 August 2016. The second moiety is due before Friday, 2 December 2016.

  • Payments must be made online
  • Payments can only be made by credit/debit card
  • Unfortunately, it is not possible to facilitate bank transfers

Booking Deposit

A €250 booking deposit must be paid at the time of application. If your application to Corrib Village is successful, this booking deposit is refundable less any deductions for damage or missing items at the end of your stay.

If your application to NUI Galway is unsuccessful (or you choose not to attend NUI Galway), this booking deposit will be returned less an administration fee of €100, provided that our cancellation policy has been abided by (details can be found below).


A €675 electricity/water deposit and utilities payment must be paid at the same time as your first moiety payment as outlined above. It is comprised of the following:

  • Electricity/Water: This is a €450 deposit payment against energy/water consumption. Every two months, a bill is issued based on consumption which is deducted from deposit payment. If the final amount incurred is greater than this amount, the student is liable for the difference. Any surplus will be refunded.
  • Utilities: €225 non-refundable payment to include utilities, cable TV, incoming phone line, waste collection etc.

Please note that each room will only be licensed for the full Academic Year. Students are liable for this period even if they do not stay for all of it.

Cancellation Policy

If the licensee wishes to cancel or is unsuccessful in their application to NUI Galway, the licensee must cancel via the Student Portal by 12:00pm (midday) on Tuesday, 23 August 2016. Cancellations by telephone will not be accepted.

In the event of following the above cancellation procedure, €100 administration fee will be deducted from the booking deposit and the remainder refunded. Refunds will be issued by bank transfer only. If the applicant cancels after the cut-off point outlined above, no refund will be issued.

If the applicant cancels after having paid the first moiety, the onus will be on the licensee to find a replacement applicant. Corrib Village has no obligation to find an alternative licensee. Failure to do so will result in the applicant losing all monies paid.

Eviction or Early Departure

If a student is evicted, no refunds of rental will be made.

In the case of early departure, the onus is on the student to find someone to take their room. Until a replacement has been found, the student will not be refunded.

Please note that when a student leaves, Corrib Village management have the right to move another resident into that student’s vacant room. If this occurs, however, the student must still find a replacement for the room which is vacant.
